What is Edge Blending:
Edge blending is a technique used to describe the process of visually combining several projected images to make a single seamless image. Typically, this is done to increase the size of a projected image to make a very wide image, or by combining a number of lower resolution devices together to increase the total resolution of a display. In both cases, a number of projectors are needed which are firstly overlapped and then visually joined together using an edge blending technique.
There are two types of edge blending, one software based and one hardware based. Software based solutions can be loaded into the main PC driving the projectors and generally offers the user with a player that they can use to show images, documents and videos etc on their large blended projection display. The hardware solution is a box that sits between the source equipment and projectors and processes and blends the images together allowing any source and even a windows desktop to be blended. |
What is Warping:
Image warping (also known as geometric correction) is used to make an image look visually correct when it is projected onto a non-planar screen. This process is also referred to as distortion correction or geometric correction.
The image is warped so when it is projected onto the screen it is visually correct. |
About our Software:
Our software tool for geometric correction (warping) and edge blending is a unique software package that offers real time non-linear warping and edge-blending of the linear frustums generated by PC based Image Generators (DirectX / OpenGL etc).
The software is simply manipulated through interactive control points, aligning the projected display to the screen surface. Whilst designed for curved screen displays and applications, it also aids the projector alignment process of non-planar and off-axis displays.
Features:
- Support geometric calibration on any complex surface. plane, cylinder, sphere...
- Easy and fast calibration using the onscreen display
- Number of Channels - Unlimited
- Resolution - As supported by the graphics card
- Works on Windows 7 & Linux platforms
